# Members

> Invite people to your organization, choose their role, and change or remove members.

Members are the people who can open your organization. Each member has one role, and the role decides what they can change.

In the sidebar, click your name and select **Invite members**.

![The Members page listing one member, the owner marked You, with the Invite people button](https://mintcdn.com/se-omator/LHKLDWeFBDdpYX2o/images/members.light.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=LHKLDWeFBDdpYX2o\&q=85\&s=e05f9f2c90aa093a65e7ddc198a5cf97)

## Member list

The list shows each member's name, email and role. Your own row is marked **You**. Owners and admins see a role menu and **Remove** on every other row.

**Pending invitations** lists the invitations nobody has accepted yet, with the role each one gives.

## Roles

| Role | What they can do |
| - | - |
| **Owner** | Can do everything, including deleting the organization. |
| **Admin** | Can do everything except delete the organization or change owners. |
| **Member** | Works on projects, but can't manage people, API keys or billing. |
| **Viewer** | Reads reports. Can't change anything. |

## Invite someone

Owners and admins

**1. Open the invite form**

Click **Invite people**.

**2. Enter their details**

Enter their **Email** and choose a **Role**. The default is **Member**.

**3. Send it**

Click **Send invite**.

SEOmator emails them a link to join, and the invitation shows under **Pending invitations**. The person signs in or creates an account with the address you invited, then accepts.

## Cancel an invitation

Owners and admins

In **Pending invitations**, click **Cancel** next to the invitation, then click **Cancel invitation** in the confirmation. The link stops working, and you can invite them again later.

## Change a role

Owners and admins

In the member's row, choose a new role in the role menu. The change applies right away.

You can't change your own role here.

## Remove a member

Owners and admins

**1. Start**

In the member's row, click **Remove**.

**2. Confirm**

Click **Remove** in the confirmation.

The member loses access to the organization. You can't remove yourself here. To leave, use **Leave organization** in [Organization settings](https://docs.seomator.com/settings/organization.md).

## Hand over ownership

Owners

To hand the organization to someone else, make them an owner, then leave the organization or ask them to change your role.
